It must be the generational training and maybe fear of the tour organiser but all members and guests were on time for departure on Monday 3rd June and off to South Wales we were bound.

This continued throughout the tour until the last coach departure on the return journey on the way home when one of our members (who shall be nameless) decided the holiday had been so enjoyable it was too early to go home!

The holiday was based at Stradey Park Hotel, Llanelli where the service and friendly staff were excellent.

South ( and North) Wales is known for its beautiful countryside, friendly people, singing, sunshine and occasionally challenging rain — and we had it all!

Our organiser Roy Plume had arranged visits to Burry Port Lifeboat station, National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Laughane ( Where Dylan Thomas Lived), Pendine, beautiful Tenby, National Showcaves of Wales, and the Gower Heritage Centre and Peninsula. Even the weather was well organised — sunshine in Tenby and rain when we were inside at National Gardens and Gower. — How professional.

Our evenings were very convivial with good food and company and on two occasions female singing choirs in the best tradition of Wales.

A thoroughly enjoyable week and our thanks go to Roy and Christine Plume as organisers and Gavin Lewis our Leons driver for an excellent holiday.
