Probus walk stalwarts had a really enjoyable 3.5 – 4 mile walk on Wednesday thanks to the excellent organisation of member Peter Ellis.
The walk was a circular tour of the National Trust property at Bickerton Hill which provided fantastic views over the Cheshire plain.
It also had interesting information on historic fort Maiden castle and details of the donor of the property Leslie Wheeldon, who donated the property to the National Trust in the honour of his wife Kitty.
The walk lasted approximately two hours with a couple of testing hills, and concluded with an excellent and welcome lunch in the Bickerton Poacher with Vicky Ellis and Pat Jones joining us.
Many Thanks Peter
