Spring is the time for Flower Shows, and our esteemed Social Secretarie(s) John and Jan Evans took on the challenge to organise a Probus Club visit to the RHS "Spring Festival" at the Malvern Three Counties Showground.

It was a challenge because much of these shows are outside and need sunshine.Secondly Friday is reputed to be the best day to visit, but travelling the M6 and M5 in both directions on a Friday to a venue to which thousands of other people were travelling needed something special. Well John found that in our "Happy Days" coach driver Andy. Not only did Andy find the routes of least resistance but also applied some tricks of the trade to minimise any hold ups. These latter must remain secret!

We approached the showground in beautiful sunshine as paragliders flew from the hills above and then spent a very relaxed day at the show admiring the flowers, floral art, gardens and for those with a strong desire to learn more, talks by famous gardeners and even vintage cars.

John and Andy were rather mystified as we returned though, as the coach hold was filled more with garden "ironmongery " than exotic flowers!

A good day was had by all thanks to John and Jan
