The Scout and Guide Hall was a bright and warm venue on a chilly and blustery Thursday evening for the Probus Call my Bluff event.
The evening started with a clever, amusing, historical monologue from the works of John Aubrey a 17th century Writer and Diarist. (Mostly remembered as the author of Brief Lives.)and performed by Derek Rooke, with occasional noisy support from behind the screens!
The next event was the supper provided by VR Caterers, which was an excellent choice of beef casserole or chicken lasagne followed by delicious desserts from Gills Puddings.
Having been well and truly fed and watered everyone was ready for the main event of Call my Bluff presented by Derek Rooke, Terry Shutt and Roger Wickson.
All the explanations given were fiendishly believable and it took two very good teams to reach a tie breaker. The winning team in the end comprised Christine Plume, Sheila Jones, Roy Plume and Geraint Davies.
An excellent evening for which our thanks must go to Roland Hall, John Evans and Bill Campbell's daughter's team who provided the catering.
