President Michael Smith made two presentations at our meeting at Brookfield golf Club today 26th june 2014.
The first presentation was to Joint Social Secretary Roy Plume ( and on behalf of his wife Christine) of a wonderful water colour painting for the hard work put in organising a successful holiday in Scotland in May this year.
The water colour painting was a commissioned painting by celebrated local artist Sheila Webster whose deceased husband was a valued member of the club. The painting was of a view across the Tay river from the holiday hotel.
Sheila is well known throughout the area for her paintings of local landscapes and canal scenes, and her work is exhibited at the Mill Shop on the canalside in Audlem.
The second presentation was a membership badge to Geoff Farr, who in a brief introduction, gave a modest description of his career as a builder.
However Geoff is just as well known in the area for his flying skills as he does figure eight manouevres over the village from his base on John Williamson's farm off Coole lane.
