Our Founder Derek Rooke

Ed: Derek was our sponsor and Founder member when he was president of Nantwich Rotary Club – so much of our Club's success over the years was started by him.

"I had a chance meeting with Derek Rooke in Nantwich a few days ago

Had quite a chat with him and he seemed to be in good spirits.

He told me that he would like to come to the Probus meetings but said if he came he would probably manage to have coffee and a chat but would not feel able to stay for a meeting. I did suggest that if he could make a meeting just for coffee we would be delighted to see him.
 

He did say that he probably would not know many of the current members, which I felt quite sad about.

He told me he is now 95, and asked to be remembered to the members."
